Arlington/Fairfax Pilot Shuttle

A limited shuttle service pilot program is now running between the Fairfax and Arlington Campuses. The Arlington Campus, in partnership with Parking and Transportation, is running the 24-seat pilot shuttle on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The shuttle will transport students from the Arlington Fellows Global Politics Program from Fairfax to their Arlington classes. These 18 students will have priority boarding on the shuttle. Any remaining seats will be available to transport students, faculty, and staff between the campuses.

There will be two departures on Tuesday/Thursday from Fairfax’s Sandy Creek Transit Center at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and two departures from Arlington’s Van Metre Plaza at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The highest number of seats will be available on the 10:30 a.m. run from Arlington to Fairfax and the 3 p.m. run from Fairfax to Arlington, as the Fellows Program students will be in class.

The shuttle driver will conduct a Mason ID check and will have a roster of the Arlington Fellows Global Politics students. Because seating is limited, Parking and Transportation encourages the Mason community to continue utilizing the Global and Sandy Creek to Vienna Metro shuttle routes and the Orange Line Metro to commute between campuses. Schedules for both are available at transportation.gmu.edu/shuttles/mason-to-metro. The CUE Bus is also free with a valid Mason ID. A CUE Bus schedule is available at cuebus.org.

Please note:  Fall service will run through Tuesday, December 17.  There will be no service during winter break.  A new spring shuttle schedule will be posted after the Thanksgiving break.

Please contact shuttle@gmu.edu with any questions.
