Parking and Traffic Advisory, November 2018

[siteorigin_widget class=”SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget”][/siteorigin_widget]

Significant traffic and parking impacts are expected on the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday, November 6, and Wednesday, November 7, due to large events at EagleBank Arena.

On Tuesday, November 6, Mason Basketball will host an opening-night doubleheader, with the women’s team facing Loyola University Maryland at 4 p.m., and the men facing Penn at 7 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m. For more information and complete season schedules, visit gomason.com.

On Wednesday, November 7, the Jeff Dunham show begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m., but expect heavy traffic up to two hours prior and delays on Mason Shuttle routes, as well.

Shenandoah Deck (levels 4 and 5) will be open to overflow General permit and event parking beginning at 5 p.m. on both evenings. To avoid arena parking and traffic impacts, parking in Rappahannock River Deck is strongly suggested.

During arena events, drivers are advised to allow additional travel time to and from campus, and avoid the southern end of campus near EagleBank Arena and Braddock Road.

Additionally, Aquia Creek Lane will be closed from Friday, November 16, through Sunday, November 18, to all but disabled parking and delivery vehicles due to activity associated with the Core Campus Project. Mason Pond Deck permit holders should enter and exit the garage via Mason Pond Drive. Those needing to drop-off or pick-up passengers should use the short-term parking in the Finley Lot, Lot I, and Merten Hall lot.
