Parking and Traffic Advisory, September 19–20

[siteorigin_widget class=”SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget”][/siteorigin_widget]

Significant traffic and parking impacts are expected on the Fairfax Campus on Wednesday, September 19, and Thursday, September 20, because of events at EagleBank Arena.

On Wednesday, the Gracias Christmas Cantata begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. On Thursday, the Andre Rieu concert begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Expect event traffic up to two hours before doors open. Expect delays on Mason Shuttle routes, as well.

Shenandoah Deck (Levels 4 and 5) will be open to overflow General permit and event parking beginning at 5 p.m. on both evenings. To avoid arena parking and traffic impacts, parking in Rappahannock River Deck is strongly suggested.

On Thursday, September 20, the roof of the Rappahannock River Parking Deck will be open after 5 p.m. as limited overflow General area permit parking.

During arena events, drivers are advised to allow additional travel time to and from campus and avoid the southern end of campus near EagleBank Arena and Braddock Road.

Additionally, Washington Gas will close one eastbound lane on Braddock Road approaching Campus Drive for the next eight weeks. Lane closures will occur Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Expect delays and consider alternate routes to campus.
