Parking Enforcement

All faculty, staff, students, and Beacon Hall residents must own a valid virtual Mason parking permit and have the license plate of the vehicle parked associated with that permit. For more information on short-term and hourly parking rates, go to the Visitors and Event Parking Page.

Parking Services will monitor and enforce the permit requirement in all restricted areas. See permit rules & regulations for details.

Enforcement Hours
Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 11:00 pm

Parking Lot Regulations

Retail Side – The retail side of the Shops parking lot (left side facing the building) is for retail patrons and has a three-hour time limit for parking. Retail employees must display a valid retail employee permit given to them by their employer. The retail employee permit is only valid in the retail lot while working.

Mason Permit Side – The event side of the Shops parking lot (right side facing the building) is for Mason Faculty/Staff or event attendees. A valid Mason parking permit is required, except during Hylton Performing Arts Center special events. No Beacon Hall residents or student parking at any time. There is no overnight parking.

The Beacon Hall Resident Lot is for Beacon Hall Resident parking permit holders only. A valid Beacon Hall Resident parking permit is required.

Fuel-Efficient Parking Spaces: The resident lot has six fuel-efficient parking spaces for residents who also have a complimentary fuel-efficient sticker on their vehicles. Any vehicle parked in a fuel-efficient space without a fuel-efficient sticker on the vehicle and a valid Mason parking permit will receive a citation. To get a complimentary fuel-efficient sticker, please come to the parking services office in Colgan Hall, Room 112.

Visitors must have a valid Mason parking permit, or they must pay for hourly parking.

A valid Mason parking permit is required except for Hylton Performing Arts Center special events where event signage is displayed.

Parking in the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center Parking Lot is restricted to patrons while on center premises using the facility. If you are using the facility then have class or other business in the other campus buildings, you must move your car to the Occoquan, King, Discovery, Hylton (except during Hylton events), or the Tower parking lots. Failure to move your vehicle will put you at risk of receiving a parking citation.
