Motorcycle Surface Lot Permit Regulations

  1. Parking at all Mason facilities requires a permit or fee payment at areas that accept mobile payments or parking decks.
  2. The permit is only valid in motorcycle parking areas. Motorcycles cannot park in a regular parking space in any lot or parking deck.
  3. Motorcycles are required to park in designated motorcycle parking areas outside of the Aquatic Center, Thompson Hall/Finley Building, and in Lots C, J, and Townhouse, as well as the first level of the Rappahannock Parking Deck.
  4. Permit is also valid in the motorcycle-designated areas of the King and Discovery lots at Science and Technology.
  5. Mopeds, scooters, and bicycles are categorized as motorcycles for permits, where applicable.
  6. Only one motorcycle can park per space.
  7. Permit holders are always responsible for their vehicles and must pay attention to any special signs regarding lot closures and other temporary restrictions or changes to parking regulations.
  8. The permit is for use by the authorized owner only and cannot be transferred to other people.
  9. Permit is not allowed to be resold, duplicated, or altered in any manner.
  10. Your license plate is your parking permit. The license plate must be associated with a virtual permit. May only register vehicles that the permit owner owns or possesses. Vehicles without a front license plate must be parked with the rear license plate facing the drive aisle to avoid a citation.
  11. A permit does not guarantee a space in any specific area.
