Subject: SNOW EMERGENCY: UPDATE

With the updated forecast for 3-6 inches of snow, it is mandatory that all Resident Students relocate their vehicles from surface parking lots into a parking deck by 12am Sunday, February 7, 2021.  If you are a Resident Student with a valid Mason parking permit, please move your vehicle into either of the following parking decks:

1) Rappahannock Parking Deck – please park in the General permit area (the portion of Level 1 that is not designated for visitors and the non-restricted parking spaces of level 2) as well as in the restricted parking spaces of Level 3 if the General permit area fills.  The normal restriction preventing overnight permit parking will be waived.  Relocation is currently allowed at this time.

2) Shenandoah Parking Deck – Levels 2 through 4.  Relocation is currently allowed at this time.

Anyone who parks in the 1st level visitor areas will be required to pay the posted parking fees upon exit.  A valid Mason parking permit will be required to park in permit areas of those two parking decks.  Those without valid Mason parking permits are welcome to use visitor paid parking if wanting to park in the decks.

Any vehicles left in the surface lots are subject to being ticketed and/or towed.

An email will be sent to you once more information is known about Mason’s operating status including when one will need to relocate their vehicles back into their regular parking areas.  We appreciate your compliance with this request as it is in your best interests for safety and to allow the University’s Facilities department to clear surface parking lots.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
