Science and Technology Campus Transportation Services

Parking is enforced at the Science & Technology Campus (SciTech): Monday – Friday 7:00am – 11:00pm.  All faculty, staff, students and Beacon Hall residents must display a valid George Mason University parking permit.  Permits can be purchased online at My Parking Account. Faculty/staff wishing to use the payroll deduction must complete the Faculty and Staff Parking Permit Payroll Deduction Form.

Most Mason parking permits issued at Fairfax and Arlington Campuses are honored at the Science & Technology Campus. West Campus and Lot M&P Fairfax permits are not valid at the SciTech Campus.

Science & Technology parking permits and Beacon Hall resident parking permits are honored at the Fairfax campus in non-designated General parking spaces but NOT at the Arlington campus without permission from Arlington Parking Services.

Visitor Parking

Visitors to the Science & Technology Campus may purchase daily, weekly and monthly permits online and park in the non-designated parking spaces of the Occoquan, Discovery, King, Tower, and Hylton lots unless  the Hylton Performing Arts Center  is having a special event. After your purchase, please print out your parking permit and display it on your dashboard.

Visitors are required to display a valid Mason parking permit or to pay for hourly metered parking.  Hourly & Daily parking can be purchased using the ParkMobile pay by phone application.  The ParkMobile zone for the Occoquan & Discover parking lots is 4903 when using the ParkMobile application.  The ParkMobile zone for the Tower parking lot is 4902.  The ParkMobile telephone number to initiate a parking session is (877) 727-5758.

While not as convenient, Daily parking permits can also be purchased through our SciTech Parking Services staff at the SciTech campus parking office or by calling (703) 582-4698.

Visitor Parking Rates

Up to 1 Hour - $2

Over 1 Hour & Up to Midnight - $3

 

A vehicle which leaves a paid space prior to the expiration of time relinquishes any balance of time without refund. The balance of time does not transfer to any other space.

Event Parking

Please follow the special event signage for direction to your designated parking lot for your event.

Special Parking (disabled, motorcycle, and reserved guest spaces)

  • Complimentary 30 minute parking spaces are available in the Occoquan Lot.
  • Two complimentary 15 minute parking spaces are available in front of the Occoquan Lot on George Mason Circle.
  • Disabled ParkingAvailable in each Science & Technology parking lot. Vehicle must display BOTH a valid DMV disabled permit (tag or placard) and a valid Mason parking permit. DMV permits alone are not valid for parking in campus parking areas or lots.
  • Motorcycle ParkingAvailable in the King Lot and Discovery lots. Motorcycle permit required.

Parking Lot Regulations

Beacon Hall Shops Parking Lots

  • Retail Side – The retail side of the Shops parking lot (left side facing the building) is for retail patrons and has a 3 hour time limit for parking. Retail employees must display a valid retail employee permit given to them by their employer. The retail employee permit is only valid in the retail lot while working.
  • Mason Permit Side – The event side of the Shops parking lot (right side facing the building) is for Mason Faculty/Staff or event attendees. A valid Mason Faculty/Staff or event permit must be displayed at all times, except during Hylton Performing Arts Center special events. No Beacon Hall residents or student parking at any time. There is no overnight parking.

Beacon Hall Resident Parking Lot

The Beacon Hall Resident Lot is for Beacon Hall Resident parking permit holders only. A valid Beacon Hall Resident parking permit must be displayed at all times. The resident lot has 6 fuel efficient parking spaces for residents who also have a complimentary fuel efficient sticker on their vehicle. You must display a valid Beacon Hall Resident parking permit and a fuel efficient sticker to park in those spaces. Any vehicle parked in a fuel efficient space without displaying both will receive a citation. To get a complimentary fuel efficient sticker, please come to the parking services office in Colgan Hall, Room 112.

Tower Parking Lot

Visitors are required to display a valid Mason parking permit or to pay for hourly parking (see visitor parking section above).  Beacon Hall Resident parking permit holders are allowed to park in the Tower Lot if the Beacon Hall Resident Lot is full. If the Hylton Performing Arts Center is having a special event no permit or payment is required.

Hylton Performing Arts Center Parking Lot 

A valid Mason parking permit must be displayed at all times unless the Hylton Performing Arts Center is having a special event. No Beacon Hall Resident parking permits allowed.

Occoquan Parking Lot

Visitors are required to display a valid Mason parking permit or to pay for hourly parking (see visitor parking section above).  No Beacon Hall Resident permits allowed.

Discovery Parking Lot 

Visitors are required to display a valid Mason parking permit or to pay for hourly parking (see visitor parking section above).  No Beacon Hall Resident permits allowed.

King Parking Lot

Visitors are required to display a valid Mason parking permit or to pay for hourly parking (see visitor parking section above).  No Beacon Hall Resident permits allowed.

Freedom Aquatic Center Parking Lot

Parking in the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center Parking Lot is restricted to patrons while on center premises using the facility. If you are using the facility then have class or other business in the other campus buildings, you must move your car to the Occoquan, King, Discovery, Hylton (except during Hylton events), or the Tower parking lots. Failure to move your vehicle will put you at risk of receiving a parking citation.
